Premedical Students Making a Difference

Continuous Events
Here at MSMD, we always have room for important things such as volunteering and giving back to those who once gave to us. We are a community oriented group here at GSU and we would love to continue helping others where and when we can in addition to our studies.
Here, we provide a list of volunteering opportunities that would be regularly updated as we gain new opportunities to do so.
Shifa Clinic: Duluth, GA
Shifa Clinic Duluth is a project of ICNA Relief USA, a non-profit organization, providing free health care services to the uninsured and under-insured residents of Georgia.
Our mission is to provide free health care to underprivileged populations that do not have health insurance. With the power of dedicated volunteers, we can carry out our mission.
American Heart Association
Before the American Heart Association existed, people with heart disease were thought to be doomed to complete bed rest — or destined to imminent death.
But a handful of pioneering physicians and social workers believed it didn’t have to be that way. They conducted studies to learn more about heart disease, America’s No. 1 killer.
Here at GSU we volunteer with the AHA to help spread the word and learn life saving skills to not only help others but protect ourselves as well.
American Red Cross
Each day, thousands of people – people just like you – provide compassionate care to those in need. Our network of generous donors, volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world.
Here at GSU, we learn all types of skills that are detrimentally necessary to know in the event when disaster strikes

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has fought to help make sure all children have access to the specialized care they need since 1915. We not only deliver exceptional care to Georgia’s kids, but we have also advanced the field of pediatrics through groundbreaking research and clinical trials. Our lifesaving medical programs have helped treat kids with complex childhood illnesses from all around the world.
Piedmont Healthcare
Our volunteer program was organized in 1957 as a volunteer service to Piedmont Hospital. Our volunteers serve in many vital areas of the Hospital, and such service requires a deep sense of commitment and responsibility.
Here, you will find a welcoming volunteer experience, a variety of service areas to suit your interests and skills, and the sense of fulfillment that comes with serving the Piedmont community.

Grady Memorial Hospital
Volunteers are a vital part of our hospital community, supporting patients, families, and staff through compassion, connection, and service.
Whether you’re a student looking to explore healthcare, a retiree wanting to give back, or simply someone with a heart to help, we welcome you to join our volunteer team.
Wellstar Health System
Volunteering at Wellstar Regional Medical Center is a commitment that not only helps others but is personally rewarding as well. On average, over 400 individuals volunteer at Wellstar, donating more than 50,000 hours of service each year. Our volunteers range from high school students to adults in their 90s.
Volunteers are important members of the Wellstar team and make a big impact on the experience our patients and visitors have at Wellstar. Volunteering provides you with the ability to make a difference in the lives of others, helps you gain experience in the healthcare setting, gives you the opportunity for special recognition throughout the year, and is a great way to network.
